PPIAF, World Bank
Tamil Nadu has had some successes in introducing PPI in transport and other infrastructure sectors. The Government is now looking to build on these to develop a comprehensive framework to support enhanced PPI with accompanying legal, institutional and regulatory reforms. The project aimed at reviewing the existing framework for PPI and analyzing its strengths and weaknesses, including comparisons with best practices in other Indian States and internationally. The results were to inform a comprehensive review of the reforms required to further develop the PPI framework in Tamil Nadu to meet the State's urgent need for new investment. The out put of the project was Guideline Documents, Development of Institutional Arrangements and Capacity Building. We contributed for the project through discussions with stakeholders for the sectors like water supply, transport, power and urban development, review of guideline documents, institutional arrangements and capacity building framework.
